BATON ROUGE, LA (LOCAL33) (FOX44) - UPDATE FRIDAY AFTERNOON:
East Baton Rouge Sheriff's Office public information officer Casey Rayborn Hicks said 29-year-old Dung Van Tran stabbed his wife, 8-month-old child, 9-year-old child and 10-year-old child Thursday night around 11 p.m. Authorities said he then stabbed himself.
Hicks said Tran told detectives he was trying to kill them. The wife and 8-month-old child were still in the hospital as of Friday afternoon, but none of the injuries are life threatening.
UPDATE FRIDAY MORNING: We have confirmed that a man injured his wife and children before hurting himself, late Thursday, according to authorities.
It happened on Myrtle Grove near Anselmo just before midnight. East Baton Rouge Sheriff's Officials say a man injured his wife and three children before hurting himself. None of the injuries are life threatening.
Sheriff's officials confirm the man is in custody and he will be charged with 4 counts of attempted murder and domestic abuse batter with child endangerment. Their investigation remains ongoing.
ORIGINAL POST: We have confirmed that four people including three children were taken to the hospital after a stabbing at a home near the Mall of Louisiana.
