APSO arrests Labadieville man for May 2017 gun incident

BATON ROUGE, La. (LOCAL 33) (FOX 44) - The Assumption Parish Sheriff's Office arrested a Labadieville man on Monday in connection with a May 2017 gun incident near Napoleanville. 

James J. Johnson, Jr., 35, of 116 Palm Lane in Labadieville was arrested on multiple charges including Aggravated Assault with a Firearm, Failure to Appear-Criminal Neglect and Failure to Appear-No Driver's License. Johnson also had a Warrant for Felony Theft. 

Those charges stem from a street fight on May 14, 2017 in the Marshall Lane areas off of LA 401. 

Sheriff Leland Falcon of APSO said deputies questioned witnesses and determined that one female had received minor injuries after being struck by a car during a confrontation. 

At the time, APSO arrested James Bell, 59, of 8573 Spruce Street, New Orleans on felony charges.

According to Sheriff Falcon, James J. Johnson, Jr was booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center and incarcerated pending a bond hearing.
