Baton Rouge General Services return to normal on Thursday

BATON ROUGE, La (LOCAL 33) (FOX 44) - UPDATE (1/18):

Baton Rouge General Hospital spokeswoman Rebekah Maricelli said in a press release:  

"Although icy roads limited some travel this morning, both campuses of Baton Rouge General (BRG) hospital remain open 24/7. As of Thursday, January 18, all services have returned to business as usual with the exception of a few delayed openings,"

Hematology Oncology Clinic – Open at 11 a.m.

Behavioral Wellness Center – Open at 12 p.m. 

BRGP Family Medicine – Denham Springs (Del Este Ave.) – Currently closed. Will open later today, time still TBD. 


Baton Rouge General Hospital spokeswoman Rebekah Maricelli said, 

"With icy roads limiting travel, some Baton Rouge General (BRG) services will be opening late today.

Both hospital campuses remain open, including the Emergency Room at the Bluebonnet hospital.   BRG Express Care, located on the Bluebonnet campus, will operate normally from 12 p.m. until 10 p.m. today. Express Care provides treatment for common illnesses and minor injuries that are not life-threatening, like flu, sinus infections, cuts and scrapes.

Current closures and delays:

  • All Baton Rouge General Physician clinics are currently closed until staff members can safely travel to work. 
  • Dutchtown Urgent Care will open at 10 a.m. and remain open until 8 p.m.

All locations are expected to resume normal operating hours on Thursday, Jan. 18."
