Fire destroys home in Baton Rouge on Friday afternoon

BATON ROUGE, LA (LOCAL33) (FOX44) - The Baton Rouge Fire Department responded to a house fire around 1 p.m on Friday, January 12. 

The BRFD arrived at 4343 Sumrall Drive in four minutes and found fire coming from the front of the house. 

Mark Miles of the BRFD said, firefighters attacked the fire to bring it under control but the house was considered a total loss. 

The home was valued at $60,000 and no one was injured as a result of the fire. 

It is unknown if any of the three occupants were home at the time.   

BRPD, EMS and Entergy assisted the Baton Rouge Fire Department at the scene of the fire.
