Baton Rouge Red Lobster General Manager Receives Community Involvement Award

BATON ROUGE, La (LOCAL 33) (FOX 44) - Red Lobster presented Gary Bourg, General Manager of the Red Lobster located in Baton Rouge, with the company’s Community Involvement Award. He is one of eight General Managers selected for this award from the more than 700 Red Lobster restaurant leaders throughout North America.

Presented annually, the Red Lobster Community Involvement Award recognizes restaurant leaders who are deeply involved within the community and who have made a positive impact with the support of the restaurant team.
“During a difficult time, Gary was a leader the Baton Rouge community could count on,” said Chip Wade, Red Lobster’s Executive Vice President of Operations. “He made sure his team members were well taken care of and tirelessly worked to help rebuild his community.”
Last year, Baton Rouge was impacted by a devastating flood, and Bourg acted quickly to help the community. He led an initiative to collect and distribute items donated by Red Lobster locations across the country to team members, shelters and community organizations affected by the flood. Bourg also organized clean-up efforts throughout the affected flood areas.
“The City of Baton Rouge had an incredibly difficult year in 2016,” said Cheri Hylton, Director of the Baton Rouge Red Lobster. “Gary did a phenomenal job ensuring that first our team was taken care of and then engaged in activities to help the community recover.”
