Update: Boil advisory issued for West Baton Rouge Parish

PORT ALLEN, La (LOCAL 33) (FOX 44) - Update: West Baton Rouge Parish is no longer under a boil advisory as January 5th, according to officials.

West Baton Rouge Parish residents living south of the Intracoastal Canal have been placed under a water boil advisory due to low water pressure.

According to officials, the parish is experiencing low water pressure in areas across the parish due the large amount of residents running water in attempt to avoid frozen water lines.

Parish officials are asking residents to do the following:

  • Please turn all water faucets off when temperatures are above freezing in order for officials to re-build water pressure throughout the system.
  • During frozen temperatures, residents who choose to run their faucets asked to do so conservatively.

This advisory only pertains to those experiencing low water pressure or outage.

Visit www.wbrcouncil.org for more information on the boil advisory.
