BRPD on the hunt for Saturday morning murder suspect

BATON ROUGE, La. (LOCAL 33) (FOX 44) - The Baton Rouge Police department are currently searching for a suspect in a Saturday morning shooting that has claimed the life of one person.

Investigators believe that early in the morning of July 15 around 1:30 a.m. in the 1900 block of Blount Road that Robert Antoine, 52, fired several shots at two individuals. Antoine only struck a woman, Monique Maxie, who was thought to be an ex-girlfriend as they exited the vehicle and she was transported to a local hospital where she later died.

According to authorities, Antoine was initially wanted for two counts of attempted second degree murder, aggravated battery, and illegal use of a weapon. However, with the death of Maxie the charges on Antione will be upgraded.
