Gonzales couple arrested on several drug charges

GONZALES, La. (LOCAL 33) (FOX 44) -  

A Gonzales couple was arrested Monday November 7 on multiple felony charges according to the Ascension Parish Sheriff’s office.

According to authorities, deputies responded to 41060 Turo Lane Monday evening in reference to an illegal use weapons complaint. Upon arrival deputies located Alexis Lopez, 30, who claimed that someone was after him and he had to protect his family. Deputies observed two cars in the driveway of the residence with multiple holes in the windshield consistent with bullet holes.

Deputies would later locate a woman, Chelsea Labat, along with two juveniles whom were unharmed.

After locating drug paraphernalia in the residence, deputies performed a search warrant on the residence and located large quantities of various other drugs and paraphernalia. 

The two juveniles were placed with a family member, added Lt. Col. Webb. Lopez was charged with Illegal use of weapons, possession with intent to distribute schedule IV CDS, possession of schedule II CDS, ten counts of possession with intent to distribute schedule II CDS, five counts sale, distribution, or possession of a legend drug without a prescription, possession of schedule II CDS, possession with intent to distribute marijuana, drug paraphernalia, illegal carry of weapons, and two counts illegal use of controlled dangerous substances in the presence of a person under 17 years of age.

Labat, 25, was charged with illegal carrying of weapons, possession with intent to distribute schedule IV CDS, possession with intent to distribute marijuana, drug paraphernalia, illegal use of controlled dangerous substances in the presence of persons under 17 years of age, and possession of schedule II CDS.

Both have been booked into the Ascension Parish Jail awaiting bond.
