La. dept. of corrections welcomes 14 new probation and parole officers

BATON ROUGE, La (LOCAL 33) (FOX 44) - Dozens of new faces are added after Louisiana's Department of Corrections welcomed a new class of graduates Friday.

14 new probation and parole officers took the oath during a swearing in ceremony at the Louisiana State Police Training Auditorium in Baton Rouge.

Department of Public Safety and Corrections Secretary James M. Le Blanc and Probation and Parole Director Pete Fremin administered the oath of office and presented a congratulatory address.

These new officers will work in districts across the state.

"Congratulations to the newest members of our Probation and Parole team," said Department of Public Safety and Corrections Secretary James M. Le Blanc.

"These new officers will play a critical role in Louisiana's criminal justice system, supervising offenders and helping them successfully reintegrate into society. They are becoming officers during an historical time for the State and our Department, as Louisiana implements the recently passed criminal justice reforms."
