Livingston Parish Sheriff's Office planning sobriety checkpoint

BATON ROUGE, La. (LOCAL 33) (FOX 44) - The Livingston Parish Sheriff's Office will be administering a sobriety checkpoint as part of the 'Drive Sober Or Get Pulled Over' campaign.


Livingston Parish Sheriff Jason Ard in a press release said, the checkpoints will be conducted with the help of several other local law enforcement agencies in an effort to protect our citizens from those who choose to drink and drive. 


Specific information on when the checkpoints are to occur will not be released in advance. 


Grant monies, made available through a Louisiana Highway Safety Commission federal grant will fund the overtime pay of the officers involved in the administering of the checkpoints.
