Louisiana 4th worst state for credit conditions

BATON ROUGE, La (LOCAL 33) - Cardratings.com conducted a study of credit card conditions nationwide to determine the best and worst states for credit conditions. Louisiana took the 4th spot in the worst states for credit conditions rankings.

Criteria used for this study were:

  • Average credit scores from Equifax
  • Foreclosure rates from Attom Data Solutions
  • Credit card delinquency rates from TransUnion
  • Unemployment rates from the Bureau of Labor Statistics
  • Bankruptcy data from the U.S. federal court system

The overall best and worst states for credit conditions were based on the overall average of each state's rankings in the above five categories. 

Worst states for credit conditions:

  • 1. Alabama (tie)
  • 1. Georgia (tie)
  • 3. Nevada
  • 4. Louisiana
  • 5. Mississippi
