Louisiana Marathon runner attempting record setting feat on Sunday

Baton Rouge, La (LOCAL 33) (FOX 44) - The Louisiana Marathon is on Sunday, January 14 and a Kentucky man will attempt to run one step closer to a record setting feat.

 

According to an Eternal Endurance press release, Dave Jones, of Hanson, KY is attempting to become the first and only person to ever run a marathon on all seven continents and 50 states in less than one year. 

 

Jones has called his quest, "The Eternal Endurance 50/7/365 Challenge."

 

On Sunday, after Jones completes the Louisiana Marathon in Baton Rouge, he will have completed state #49 of his challenge. 

 

Jones could set a new world record later this week if he completes his final scheduled race in Hawaii. 

 

The Marathon consists of a multi-race format including a 26.2 marathon, 13.1 half-marathon, 6.5 quarter marathon, 3.1 miles 5k run for adults and kids and a 1.2 kids fun run as part of the Kids Marathon Race Program.
