BATON ROUGE, La. -- - LSU has hired its new head men's basketball coach: Will Wade.
The former Virginia Commonwealth and Chattanooga head coach takes over for the fired Johnny Jones.
Wade, 34, went 51-20 at VCU, leading the Rams to two consecutive NCAA Tournament appearances.
VCU was knocked out this month by St Mary's in the first round of "The Big Dance."
LSU released the following information:
"Vice Chancellor and Director of Athletics Joe Alleva has announced former Virginia Commonwealth University head basketball coach Will Wade will lead the LSU basketball program as its new head coach."
