Mayor Broome releases statement on City-Parish offices closing today and tomorrow

BATON ROUGE, La. (LOCAL 33) (FOX 44) - Mayor-President Sharon Weston Broome has announced that all City-Parish government offices will close at noon today and remain closed through Wednesday. 

Mayor Broome's statement can be read in full below: 

"Due to the threat of potentially dangerous wintry weather conditions throughout East Baton Rouge Parish, Mayor-President Sharon Weston Broome is announcing the closure of all City-Parish government offices today at noon, remaining closed through Wednesday, January 17.

The Mayor's Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness Crisis Action Team is monitoring the situation in conjunction with the Governor's Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness and The National Weather Service. City-Parish officials are continually monitoring potentially hazardous road conditions and will announce any road closures or de-icing activities.
