Rouses "Big Red" BBQ Trailer recovered in Texas

DONALDSONVILLE, La (LOCAL 33) - Donny Rouse, CEO of Rouses Markets, announced Thursday that “Big Red,” the custom BBQ trailer stolen from the company’s Donaldsonville location on March 6, has been recovered with help from the Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office.

The trailer was located in Alvin, Texas on Tuesday, March 14. The Ascension Parish Sheriff's Office has arrested a suspect accused of stealing Big Red.

Big Red is a familiar fixture at Rouses Markets and area festivals. “She travels all over the Gulf Coast,” Rouse said. “She even has her own fan club.” Customers can follow Big Red on Rouse Markets Facebook and Instagram.

The trailers next trip is, thankfully, a planned one: Donny Rouse is hosting a cookout for the Ascension Parish Sheriff's Office as a special thank you for their assistance with the case.

As a “reward” to Rouses customers who shared Big Red’s wanted poster on Facebook, Rouses is giving away five $100 gift cards. “Our customers were on the case,” Rouse said. “That wanted poster was shared thousands and thousands of times.”

Customers can enter for a chance to win the gift cards @RousesMarkets on Facebook.
