SBA and Southern University hosts 13th Annual Procurement Conference

BATON ROUGE, La (LOCAL 33) - On April 11, 2017, the U.S. Small Business Administration will host the 13th Annual "Connecting Businesses with Contracts" Conference in Baton Rouge, LA.  This is an annual event that is hosted in conjunction with Southern University and A & M College in Baton Rouge, Louisiana Economic Development, the Louisiana Procurement Technical Assistance Center, and the Louisiana Small Business Development Centers.
The purpose of this conference is to provide training and assistance to the small business community including small businesses, woman-owned businesses, small disadvantaged businesses, 8(a) certified firms, HUBZone certified firms, and Veteran-Owned (including Service-Disabled Veteran owned) small businesses and to link these various small businesses with Federal, State and Municipal procurement agents and Prime Contractors.
SBA District Director Michael Ricks says “Participation in this event will enable Federal Agencies, State and Municipal Agencies, and Prime Contractors to strengthen their commitment to the small business community.  For small businesses, this event affords them an opportunity to meet with various procurement officials, receive business development training, and network with other small businesses to expand their client base.”
The conference will be held at Southern University, in Smith-Brown Memorial Student Union, 500 Jesse N. Stone Avenue, Baton Rouge, LA  70813 on April 11, 2017 from 8:00 A.M. to 3:00 P.M. Registration begins at 7:30 A.M.
