Spanish Town Parade hits the streets despite heavy rain

BATON ROUGE, La (LOCAL 33) (FOX 44) - Heavy rain on Saturday February 10, 2018 was predicted days before the Spanish Town Parade; but that forecast didn't cause any delays.

In fact, local residents and organizers of the event said rain or shine "the show must go on."

"The parades here are more family oriented," said a local resident who attended the parade. "You can feel the closeness, love, and bonding."

The parade started at noon where floats began to take off on Spanish Town Road and ended on Third Street. The downtown area and Spanish Town neighborhood were filled with chains, beads, and all throws.
