The Butterfly Society holds march against domestic violence

BATON ROUGE,La (LOCAL 33) (FOX 44) - With domestic violence plaguing the state of Louisiana and the Capitol City, many people have shifted their focus to potential solutions.

The Butterfly Society, which is a non-profit domestic violence organization, hosted a march Wednesday evening to help bring light to what victims can do in an abuse situation.

"Don't be afraid to tell. Don't be afraid to speak. Don't silence yourself because you can't get help that way," said Keyandra Hall, 2017 Miss Black Louisiana USA.

Community leaders like Councilwoman Donna Collins-Lewis and Councilman Lamont Cole helped lead the way as activists and domestic violence victims gave their testimonies.
