THIBODAUX, La (LOCAL 33) (FOX 44) - Thiboadaux officials arrested 21-year-old Tyron Robertson on numerous charges after leading them on a vehicle pursuit Monday.
On Thursday, April 12, at approximately 3:00 p.m., Robertson stole multiple items from an unidentified store located in the 100 block of Glenwild Drive.
Robertson, another male, and a toddler activated the store's alarm as they exited the store, which prompted store employees to follow them to a black Hyundai Sonata.
All assailants got away, but not before employees wrote down the license plate number.
As Robertson took off in the store's parking lot, Thibodaux police officers spotted the Sonata and eventually caught up with the vehilce at Forty Arpent Road and Frederick Drive.
It was at this intersection that the police chase began.
From disregarding traffic signs, to traveling in opposing lane traffic, all while throwing several items out of the window, innocent drivers were put in danger.
Robertson eventually stopped on the corner of Karla and Denise Drive, where authorities were able to apprehend him after a resisted scuffle.
The toddler was found in the front seat of the car with no seatbelt on and later given to a family member.
