Traffic stop leads to the arrest of a Patterson drug dealer

BATON ROUGE, La (LOCAL 33) (FOX 44) - St. Mary Parish officials arrested three people after discovering drugs, money, and paraphernalia during a traffic stop Monday evening. 

These arrests derived from a 24-hour weekend reporting period from 43 complaints.

18-year-old Ashlyn Rock and 19-year-old Codie Adams of Patterson, LA was charged with possession of hydrocodone and a schedule 1 drug count respectively.

22-year-old Aaron Ross of Patterson, LA was charged with of marijuana with intent to distribute, possession of THC wax, and transactions involving proceeds from controlled dangerous substance activity.

Here's how it all went down:

Narcotics detectives observed a vehicle driving onto the shoulder of US Highway 90.

Detectives conducted a traffic stop. The driver was identified as Rock and the 2 passengers were identified as Ross and Adams.

Detectives smelled the strong odor of marijuana coming from the car and received consent to search the vehicle. Detectives located marijuana, THC wax, and cigar wrappings in the vehicle.

They also located over a dozen hydrocodone pills in Rock’s purse.

As the investigation progressed, detectives also located $780 in cash on Ross and collected evidence that Ross sold the illegal drugs.

Adams was released on a summons to appear in court on July 11, 2018.

Rock and Ross were transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center and later released on bond.
