Two Catahoula Parish Sheriff's Office Correctional Officers Arrested on Monday

BATON ROUGE, La. (LOCAL 33) (FOX 44) - Two Catahoula Parish Sheriff’s Office Correctional Officers were arrested on Monday for assault, battery and malfeasance.

On January 8, the Louisiana State Police arrested Charles Ray LeBlanc, 42, of Sicily Island and Ryan Shane Mayo, 27, of Jonesville.

M/T Daniel “Scott” Moreau of the Louisiana State Police said, LeBlanc was charged with second degree battery and malfeasance in office and Mayo was charged with assault, simple battery, and malfeasance in office.

LSP said they received information in December of 2017 from the Catahoula Parish Sheriff’s Office regarding a battery of an inmate by a correctional officer or officers.

The Catahoula Parish Sheriff’s Office and the Louisiana State Police launched an investigation into the accusations.

The dual investigation led to arrest warrants for the Correctional Officers.

LSP said LeBlanc and Mayo were arrested and booked into the Catahoula Parish Jail.

The investigation is ongoing.
