Two men in custody on 1st Degree Murder charges

BATON ROUGE, La. (LOCAL 33) (FOX 44) - The Baton Rouge Police department has arrested a second suspect in connection to the murder of 19-year-old Jywon Butler earlier this month.

Kenneth Felix Smith, 20, was arrested August 30 in connection with the murder of Butler and the attempted murder of his brother. According to authorities, Smith and an accomplice, Jamoriya Ben, entered into the Butlers' apartment through an unlocked window, walked to their bedroom and shot them multiple times.

Jywon died at the scene while his brother was transported to a local hospital in critical conditions.

Ben was arrested August 18, him and Smith were both booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison on charges of 1st Degree Murder, Attempted 1st Degree Murder and Home Invasion.
