UPDATE: Man arrested in Elm Grove Garden Apartments shooting

BATON ROUGE, La. (LOCAL 33) (FOX 44) - UPDATE: (5/22/18)

36-year-old James Ricardo Johnson of 2435 Lark Street has been arrested for the shooting death of Kendrick Dixon Tuesday.

We're told that Johnson watched Dixon shoot Carr during a robbery.

Johnson then chased after Dixon as both of them exchanged gunfire.

Johnson fired several shots into a vehicle, striking Dixon multiple times.

Dixon was pronounced dead at the scene. Tips from Crime Stoppers led to this additional information and the ultimate arrest of Johnson.

Johnson has been booked at the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison on the charge of Second Degree Murder.

UPDATE: (5/16/18)

The men that died at 8770 Elm Grove Garden, Baton Rouge, LA have been positively identified as 32-year-old Kendrick Dixon and 34-year-old Henry Carr. 

This homicide investigation is ongoing.


UPDATE: (9:45 a.m.):

After arriving at the scene, Baton Rouge Police Department detectives saw two individuals suffering from gunshot wounds. 

BRPD said, Henry Carr, 34, of 8725 Tate St. was "outside his vehicle suffering from apparent gunshot injuries."

According to police, the other victim, Kendrick Dixon, 32, of 1935 Spanish Town Rd. was found inside Carr's vehicle with "apparent gunshot injuries." 

Both men were pronounced dead at the scene and police have not identified a motive for the shooting.

A shooting took the life of two men on Sunday, May 13 around 11:45 p.m.

The shooting occurred at the Elm Grove Garden Apartments located at 8770 Elm Grove Garden Dr. and according to the Baton Rouge Police Department, two male victims were found dead in the parking lot. 

A preliminary Investigation found that the two individuals died from gunshots wounds.

The investigation is ongoing and further information will be provided when it becomes available.
