Two New Orleans high schools penalized for on-field fight

BATON ROUGE, La. (LOCAL 33) (FOX 44) - Two high school football teams in New Orleans, Helen Cox High School and L.W. Higgins High School, will have to forfeit one game a piece as a result of an altercation during Friday night’s game.

Several players from both teams were involved in an on-field scuffle which caused game officials to suspend the game. After review of the incident the Louisiana High School Athletic Association ruled that each team violated two specific rules from the LHSAA handbook.

As a penalty both programs must forfeit a game each in favor for their and each player must complete a Sportsmanship Class from the National Federation of State High Schools Association.
