Veterans Memorial Park opening up in Baton Rouge

BATON ROUGE, LA (LOCAL33) (FOX44) - This Friday Baton Rouge will welcome a new Veterans Memorial Park.

A ribbon cutting and dedication ceremony will be held Friday, November 10. The new Veterans Memorial Park is located on the grounds of the Old Arsenal Museum.

Louisiana Department of Veterans Affairs Secretary Joey Strickland says the park will be the first on state property to recognize the hundreds of thousands of Louisianans who have served, been wounded, or killed in action while serving in the United States Military. The park will be dedicated to the preservation of their sacrifice.
