Most Stay Dry Friday, But Rain Chances Higher This Weekend

The heat and humidity will continue.

5-19-2017 - We are seeing a warm and muggy start to our Friday with temperatures in the mid 70s. This afternoon, we will quickly soar to near 89 degrees with more clouds than sunshine. While most of us will stay dry all day, a few isolated showers and storms are expected across south Louisiana this afternoon.

We should stay dry overnight and into Saturday morning with lows near 74 degrees.

Rain chances will be a little higher Saturday afternoon since we will have more hit and miss storms to dodge. This should hold us closer to the mid 80s.

Sunday, rain chances will continue to climb with numerous showers and storms expected. Highs will be near 84.

While widespread severe weather is not expected this weekend, a few stronger storms can't be ruled out.

After this weekend, our next best chance for rain will be Tuesday as a cold front pushes through the state. This should bring our afternoons closer to 80 degrees by midweek and bring in lower humidity.
