Ana Conejo is a proud Texan, born and raised in Houston, Texas. She is stoked to be in Baton Rouge covering stories in the state of Louisiana. Ana joined WGMB/WVLA as a multimedia journalist in February 2023.
Ana is an alumna of Stephen F. Austin State University, with a Bachelor of Arts degree in radio/television broadcasting where she anchored for the college television station SFA-TV2, hosted for KSAU 90.1, and was the video editor for the college newspaper, the Pine Log. Prior to joining the team, she reported in East Texas as an award-winning bilingual journalist for the local newspaper in the Tyler and Longview area. She also led the Spanish digital outlet, Tyler Paper Espanol, where she reported in Spanish for the Hispanic East Texas community.
Her love for storytelling comes from her humanitarian heart where she strives to be the voice of the unheard. Growing up, Ana always had a passion for the media and being an asset to the community. She loves flowing in her creative visual juices and her passion for helping others. Ana is also fluent in Spanish and loves to cover community-based stories in Hispanic communities.
During her free time, Ana loves to live and breathe R&B music, go to beaches and lakes, drink iced matcha lattes, meet and interact with the community and chase sunsets. Feel free to say hi and show her love in person, reach out at email@example.com or connect with her on social media.
