Ashley Renee joined the BR Proud StormTracker Team in August 2023. She has had a fascination with weather and understanding how it works ever since she was 6 years old. She knew then she wanted to be a meteorologist.
Ashley grew up in New Orleans and in Atlanta. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Mass Communication from Xavier University of Louisiana, a certificate in Movie & TV Production from Georgia Piedmont Technical College and a Bachelor of Science degree in Geoscience (Broadcast Meteorology) from Mississippi State University.
Ashley has interned with WDSU and WVUE in New Orleans. She also interned with the New Orleans Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness.
She began her broadcast meteorologist career in June 2021 at The Delta News in Greenville, Miss. Ashley is thankful that she began her career in the Mississippi Delta. She wanted to start in a small TV market not too far from home, and she had plenty of opportunities to further develop her severe weather forecasting skills. She’s happy to be much closer to home now and forecasting for southeast Louisiana.
