Christina Jensen joined the WGMB/WVLA team in January 2023. She co-anchors Fox44 news at 5:30 p.m. and 9 p.m.

Prior to joining the team, Christina worked as an evening news anchor at Nexstar’s NBC affiliate KTVE-TV in West Monroe, Louisiana. She spent two years gaining experience as an anchor, producer and mentor for young reporters.

Christina also was a reporter before becoming an anchor. She was a multimedia journalist at Spectrum News 13 in Orlando, Florida. During her stint at the 24-hour cable news channel, Christina covered several major breaking news stories that went national. Stories include the Pulse nightclub shooting, Hurricane Irma, Hurricane Matthew, the murder of a Voice contestant, and the nationwide manhunt for Markeith Loyd. Loyd was on the FBI’s most-wanted list after a long police manhunt intensified after he allegedly killed an Orlando police officer.

She was there for two years and worked as a reporter/anchor/producer for the ABC, CBS and Fox affiliates. She covered treacherous winter weather and the 2014 Jackson Hole landslide that damaged dozens of businesses and homes. It also caused more than 40 evacuations.

Before Christina was in front of the camera, she also worked behind the scenes. After graduating with a bachelor’s degree in journalism from California Polytechnic State University, Christina took a job at a news station in San Luis Obispo, California. She worked as a production technician and was soon promoted to nightside producer for NBC affiliate KSBY-TV. She was at the station for about three years.

During her free time, Christina enjoys hiking, exploring new areas, discovering new food and spending quality time with her friends!
