Jasmine Lomax joined the StormTracker team in November 2019 and is happy to call Baton Rouge her new home.
Growing up in Maryland, Jasmine experienced all four seasons, but it was thunderstorms and her love for flying that made her fall in love with weather.
Jasmine is a proud alumna of The Pennsylvania State University, which boasts one of the country’s top atmospheric science programs. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science in meteorology, a Bachelor of Arts in broadcast journalism and a minor in Spanish. While at Penn State, Jasmine was a member of the nation’s largest student-run forecasting organization, Campus Weather Service. She also worked with meteorologists, whom she now considers mentors, in Baltimore and Washington, D.C.
Prior to coming to Baton Rouge, Jasmine interned with an environmental federation called EarthShare. While at EarthShare, she learned about the importance of protecting the earth. She now strives to live a more eco-friendly lifestyle and encourages others to do the same.
In her free time, Jasmine enjoys dancing, traveling, trying new restaurants and playing with her three-pound teacup Yorkie, Caramel. She is also a die-hard fan of the Penn State Nittany Lions and the Baltimore Ravens.
