Kennedi Bailey Walker is an award-winning journalist from New Orleans, Louisiana. In 2021, she was awarded Multi-Media Journalist of the Year by the Louisiana Association of Broadcasters.
She is a proud graduate of the Manship School of Mass Communication at Louisiana State University. During Kennedi’s time at LSU, she became the first African-American News Director on record for the university’s radio station, KLSU 91.1FM. She hosted a weekly radio show, “The Kennedi Show.” At LSU, she won countless awards for her storytelling.
During the summer of 2018, Kennedi interned at Good Morning America and worked directly under co-host Robin Roberts. There she became the first intern to host “GMA Wake Up Call,” which airs live on the show’s Facebook page. At the end of the internship, she had a sit-down interview with Roberts discussing her journey to the anchor desk, being the first black woman co-anchor at ESPN, and more. Roberts and her sister, veteran New Orleans TV Anchor Sally-Ann Roberts, have become Kennedi’s life-long mentors.
Kennedi credits her success to God, her family, and everyone that has helped her along the way. She hopes to inspire everyone to chase their dreams.
