Kennedi Bailey Walker is an award-winning journalist who recently joined the team as a News Reporter. She is a proud graduate of the Manship School of Mass Communication at Louisiana State University. Starting 10 days after graduation, this is her first job out of college.
During the summer of 2018, Kennedi interned at Good Morning America and worked directly under co-host Robin Roberts. There she became the first intern to host “GMA Wake Up Call,” which airs live on the show’s official Facebook page. At the end of the internship, she had a sit-down interview with Roberts discussing her journey to the anchor desk, being the first black woman co-anchor at ESPN and more. Roberts is now Kennedi’s life-long mentor.
During Kennedi’s time at LSU, she became the first African-American News Director on record for the university’s radio station, KLSU 91.1FM. She hosted a weekly radio show, “The Kennedi Show.”
Kennedi says she hopes to inspire young people, so they know they can become news reporters right after college, too.
Kennedi is a native of New Orleans, Louisiana and graduated from the Academy of the Sacred Heart in 2015.
