Matt Willoughby joined the StormTracker Team in August 2021.

His passion for weather follows one of Louisiana’s darkest moments, Hurricane Katrina. Matt and his family moved to Baton Rouge after his home was destroyed during the storm.

From that point forward, he was dedicated to informing his family and friends about upcoming weather and being a weather safety advocate. Matt’s passion led him to study Broadcast Meteorology at Mississippi State University where he is currently finishing his last semester before graduating.

During his time at Mississippi State, Matt spent his summers interning, most recently interning at NBC Local 33/ Fox 44 as a meteorology intern.

During his free time, Matt enjoys cheering on his alma mater, Broadmoor High School (go Buccaneers!), and watching Mississippi State football and their National Champion baseball team. He is also a member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity
