Former Southern DB Johnson ready for bounce back third year with Washington Redskins

Jaguar Nation

“I definitely think you have to work twice as hard, not saying we are overlooked at HBCUs, but you definitely have to work twice as hard,” former Southern Jaguar Danny Johnson said.

Johnson will be entering his third year with the Washington Redskins when the next NFL season begins, but last year the Jackson native played just two games due to hand and knee injuries.

“Last year was really tough for me, especially going through the knee injury, just missing so many games. I tried to do everything possible to get back out there wit those guys, but it was another process that just made me a better person.”

Johnson’s goal now is to take advantage of any opportunity he has whenever year three begins.

“My goal going into my third year is just to get way more playing time than I did. Whether it’s at nickel, outside, playing corner special teams, contributing way more.”
