Jaguars ready for season stacked with homefield advantage

Jaguar Nation

BIRMINGHAM, Al. – Every season from 2014-2019, Southern only had four home games, and during the spring 2021 football season, the Jags were on the Bluff once, but the homefield advantage will be changing in Southern’s favor.

The Jags will play six games at A.W. Mumford Stadium in the upcoming fall season. Southern hadn’t played more than four homes games since 2014, when the Blue and Gold also had six contests.

The Jaguars were all smiles during SWAC Media Day when asked about their home slate.

“Turn on the TV. Let’s go to work. I love playing at home. I love playing at home in front of the fans. They got rowdy. They got krunk. Back-to-back-to-back, Baton Rouge going be crazy,” Southern defensive end Jalen Ivy said.

“Feels amazing to have Jaguar nation back. It’s going feel amazing with the whole crowd full. Everybody gonna be at every game. It’s gonna be a hostile environment,” Southern tackle J’Atyre Carter added.

The Jags first home game will be against Miles College on September 11th.
