Returning kicker Luke Jackson found himself amongst a room full of new faces at the start of spring ball. Yet just a few months later, the group is close and poised for a strong season.

“I think naturally it just came together. We talked over the phone a lot. We worked all summer long, now we’re working all fall camp long. And the fact that we’re so close, just on the field it really helps us.” Jackson said.

The Jaguars add two special teamers through the portal in long snapper Braxton Blackwell, from Mississippi Delta Community College, and punter Robens Beauplan, from Alcorn State.

Beauplan and Jackson have kept in touch over the phone, as well on the field, with Jackson nailing a game winner on the Bluff against Beauplan’s Braves.

Finally the room rounds out with freshman place kicker Joshua Griffin from Vicksburg, Mississippi.
