BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) – Many experts agree that shifting into a healthier lifestyle is not the sort of change that occurs overnight.

Instead, it’s a gradual process that unfolds one step at a time.

In this regard, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) advises, “Making small changes every day can make a big difference.”

An upcoming event that will present locals with the opportunity to take a big step towards a healthier lifestyle is set to take place in November.

The Baton Rouge Metro Airport has partnered with the YMCA for a 5K and 1 mile walk/run for people of all ages.

The community is invited to the Baton Rouge Airport from 8:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. Saturday, November 19 for ‘Run the Runway.’

This event will mark the first time the capital area airport has hosted a run.

Anyone interested in attending can register using the link at the bottom of this article.

Early registration is $25. Those who register after October 19 will pay a slightly higher fee of $35. All registrants will receive a 2022 Run the Runway race shirt in addition to a participation medal.

Organizers say prizes will be awarded to timed runners for overall male and female finishers as well as finishers in seven age divisions.

If you’re eager to take one more step towards a healthier lifestyle, this family-friendly event may be just the boost you need to push you in the right direction.
