BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — The Summer of Hope is a series of community events aiming to get residents involved to promote peace while addressing areas with high rates of violent crime.
The mayor’s office said the 15-week initiative operates under Safe Hopeful Healthy BR, a public safety program.
“With the theme of Peace Over Everything, this year’s Summer of Hope initiative is dedicated to bringing hope and vital resources directly to neighborhoods, individuals, and families who have been affected by violence,” said Mayor-President Sharon Weston Broome.
