Massages & Mammos features healthy dishes and mocktails served by Ochsner Eat Fit partner Mestizo Louisiana Mexican Cuisine. Attendees can also meet with Dr. Lindsey Fauveau, a fellowship trained breast surgical oncologist with Ochsner MD Anderson Cancer Center.
Every attendee is eligible to win prizes, including New Orleans Pelicans-signed memorabilia and Kendra Scott jewelry, along with items from the Ochsner Spa Fitness Center and Vision Center, as well as Eat Fit and more. Patients who receive a mammogram at Massages & Mammos also get a swag bag courtesy of Ochsner, Community Coffee, Royal Standard, Benny’s Carwash, Chick-fil-A and other local businesses and boutiques.
Ochsner MD Anderson recommends women start scheduling a mammogram at age 40. In addition, women should be familiar with how their breasts normally look and feel and report any changes to their healthcare provider immediately. Symptoms of breast cancer can include swelling, skin irritation or dimpling, breast or nipple pain or thickening of skin. However, many breast cancers don’t exhibit symptoms and are detected only with a mammogram.
