BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — Baton Rouge General’s pop-up pink pumpkin patches are back.
Anyone can stop by the Bluebonnet, Mid City and Ascension campuses and take home a pink pumpkin for free. The pumpkin patches are part of BRG’s Protect Your Pumpkins movement. This is being done “as part of the hospital’s breast cancer awareness campaign promoting annual mammograms for women 40 and over,” according to Baton Rouge General.
“On the Bluebonnet campus, the patch is located at the corner of Bluebonnet Boulevard and Picardy Avenue. At Mid City, the patch is located on the North Boulevard side of the hospital in front of Pennington Cancer Center. At Ascension, the patch is set up on the left side of the facility’s parking lot,” the hospital said in a news release.
The pumpkins will be available at these locations until the last one is taken.
At the Bluebonnet campus, you will see a few extra features, including a 15-foot inflatable pink pumpkin, pink pumpkin face painting from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and pink balloon bracelets from 2-4 p.m., pink-themed gourmet popcorn for sale and pink lemonade.
If you stop by a Rouses in the area, you can buy a pink pumpkin there and $1 will be donated to help buy a new 3D mammography machine at BRG’s Mid City campus, according to the hospital.
