The Cardiovascular Institute of the South is taking part in a national anti-smoking movement.
On Thursday, November 15, CIS will host an all-day smoking cessation event. The theme this year is 'Tobacco Free LIFE: Get on Board with Commit to Quit."
People who stop by can learn about the Cardiovascular Institute of the South's free cessation program, get a support game plan and enter to win prizes.
For more information on the event, see the Cardiovascular Institute of the South's blog post on the topic.
This event is part of the national movement started by the American Cancer Society. According to the American Cancer Society, nearly 38 million Americans still smoke. It remains the single largest preventable cause of death and illness in the world.
