Port Allen Playground Project Flier

Dozens of LSU students will cross the Mississippi today to help build a playground for the students of Port Allen Elementary.

Port Allen Elementary recently received a $40,000 grant for a new playground, and received matching donations to completely fund the project.

As a part of the grant, community support was needed to build the playground. School officials and organizers were having trouble finding enough volunteers for the project, and became worried that the project might not get done after all.

This is where LSU came through. According to Amy Karam, who is close to the project, in the past few days, over fifty LSU students have stepped in to make sure the playground is built.

The students will partner with the school to make sure the playground is built today.
