BATON ROUGE, La. (BR Proud) — Throughout the month of March, BR Proud honored those who inspire, lead and forge the way for other women.
For the second year, people nationwide submitted the Remarkable Women in their lives and out of dozens of local nominees, four finalists were chosen.
“The Remarkable Women project allows us to give women the recognition and honor they deserve. There are many women who do good work in our area behind the scenes,” said BR Proud General Manager, Eric Thomas. “I am proud that Nexstar does this national project so not only can we shine a light on their work, but also financially support one of their passions.”
The winner of the contest was announced April 6. Congratulations, Emily George Tilley!
Tilley was made aware of her win while at her place of employment, O’Brien House. Executive director Todd Hamilton was present when BR Proud presented a check for $1,000 to the organization. As the winner, Tilley was able to choose which non-profit would receive the check.
Tilley works as the clinical director at O’Brien House which provides various programs for adults recovering from addiction.
