Disney and Beyoncé celebrated the upcoming release of The Lion King with a new single

PHOENIX- Beyoncé dropped a new single called, Spirit, for the upcoming recreation of The Lion King almost a week before the movie hits the theaters.

The song was co-written by Ilya Salmanzadeh, Timothy McKenzie and Beyoncé and appears in the movie during a pivotal moment with Beyoncé’s character, Nala, according to a Parkwood Entertainment press release.

The new song will be part of the album, “The Lion King: The Gift,” that will be released on July 19th, the same day as the movie. The album was produced by the queen herself and features other recording artists across the globe.

“This is sonic cinema,” Beyoncé said in a press release. “This is a new experience of storytelling. I wanted to do more than find a collection of songs that were inspired by the film. It is a mixture of genres and collaboration that isn’t one sound. It is influenced by everything from R&B, pop, hip hop and Afro Beat.”

In the meantime, we’ll just sit here patiently waiting to hear her angelic voice in the theaters.

The physical album is available for pre-order here.

The queen has done it again but this time, I don’t think anyone was ready for it!
