‘Riverdale’ season 4 premiere is set to tribute Luke Perry

PHOENIX Last March, Riverdale lost one of its beloved stars, Luke Perry, who passed away after suffering from a stroke. The crew, as well as the rest of the world, have been having a hard time dealing with the loss, especially the writers of the show.

The creator of Riverdale, Roberto Aguirre Sacasa, announced the title of the show’s season four premiere as In Memoriam, which is set to honor Perry.

“Probably the most important episode of ‘Riverdale’ we’ll do this year, if not ever. A tribute to our fallen friend. Thankful for this opportunity to honor Luke & Fred

Even though Perry’s last taped scene on the show was back in April, there are still ways the show plans to honor him.

The teen-drama follows Archie Comics’ characters Archie Andrews, Betty Cooper, Veronica Lodge, and Jughead Jones as they try to solve the mysteries that happen in a little town called Riverdale.

Riverdale has yet to explain how they will be having Perry’s character leave the story. Luke Perry has played Fred Andrews, Archie’s dad, since the beginning of season one of the show.

Season four premieres Oct. 9 on the CW.
