BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — The Flower Fest is in its third year. This weekend, the festival will feature art, food, music and 12-foot-tall, themed flower sculptures.
This two-day event benefits childhood cancer research at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital while letting the community enjoy beautiful works of art.
A group of five teams will have two days to create 12-foot by 12-foot structures that are at least 80% floral. The pieces will be on display for fans to take photos and vote for their favorite design. This year’s theme is “Birds of a Feather.”
The festival will be 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, April 1 and 2 at Pointe-Marie, 14200 River Road. A gala will follow the festival on Saturday, beginning at 6 p.m. It will have food, music and an awards ceremony.
Tickets are available online beginning at $25. Children under the age of 3 enter for free.
