BATON ROUGE, LA – Governor John Bel Edwards announced today that the state will begin moving into “Phase 2” of reopening later this week at his COVID-19 press conference today.
The governor also announced that Louisiana had achieved its goal of 200,000 COVID tests completed in the month of May.
Federal guidelines for “Phase 2” include the reopening of schools and summer camps, allowing “large venues” such as movie theaters, places of worship, and sporting venues to reopen with some physical distancing measures, allowing bars to open with standing-room occupancy, and other changes.
