Part of Baton Rouge Metro Airport to be used for PPE distribution center

The Baton Rouge Metropolitan Airport (BTR) today announced a three month intergovernmental agreement allowing for the use of nearly 44,000 sqft. of airport owned building space to be used for receiving and storing personal protection equipment (PPE). The supplies will be stored and distributed to combat the current spread of COVID-19.

The Mayor’s Office and the Baton Rouge Health District will handle operation of the donation site. According to BTR, the location will serve as a contact and distribution point enabling officials to identify what is needed. This will allow items to be made available more easily by corporate and community partners.

The new center is currently looking for:

· Germicidal Wipes

· Hand Sanitizer

· Surgical Masks

· Procedure Masks

· N95 Masks

· Gowns / protective drapes

· Goggles

· Latex and Non-Latex Gloves – all sizes

Please not that this initiative is currently primarily intended for business-to-business donations. Please make sure to only include clean, boxed, sealed, and unused containers. Larger quantity pickup arrangements can be made, but please contact in advance.
