WASHINGTON, D.C. (BRPROUD) — The Biden administration has launched COVID.gov, a new one-stop-shop website to help all people in the United States gain even better access to lifesaving tools like vaccines, tests, treatments, and masks, as well as get the latest updates on COVID-19 in their area.

“The bottom line, no longer will Americans have to scour the internet to find vaccines, treatments, tests, or masks,” said President Biden.

And now with the click of a button, a new Test-to-Treat locator will help people access pharmacies and community health centers across the U.S., a promise Biden made in his State of the Union Address

“These are pharmacies and other places in your neighborhood where you can get tested and if you’re positive, you can get lifesaving treatments all in one stop,” said Biden.

There are now 2,000 test-to-treat sites across the country plus more than 240 sites across Veteran’s Health Administration and Department of Defense facilities to serve veterans, military personnel, and their families. Baton Rouge has over 20 test-to-treat sites.

“We’ve ensured that these locations are in the hardest hit, hardest to reach locations as well,” said Biden.

With many states lifting COVID restrictions, Biden says we entering a new era of the pandemic but we can’t get too relaxed.

“It does not mean that COVID-19 is over, it means that COVID-19 no longer controls our lives, that’s what it means,” said Biden.

In addition to the new website, Biden has also released his national COVID-19 preparedness plan, a plan he says he cannot fully execute without the proper funding from Congress.
