President Biden to visit Hurricane Ida aftermath today in Louisiana

BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) – President Joe Biden will be visiting Louisiana later today to tour the aftermath of Hurricane Ida.

During his visit, President Biden will be meeting with state and local leaders, including Governor John Bel Edwards.

“My message to everyone affected is: We’re all in this together,” Biden said in a speech Thursday at the White House, where he addressed the multiple natural disasters that have unfolded this week. “The nation is here to help.”

The President will tour a neighborhood in LaPlace after receiving an update from local leaders at the St. John Parish’s Emergency Operations Center. From there, the President will take an aerial view of Laffite, Grand Isle, Port Fourchon and Lafourche Parish.

Later in the day, President Biden will meet with local leaders from impacted communities in Galliano, Louisiana.
