Ascension Parish Government asks residents to report water in homes following week of heavy rain

Louisiana News

BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — The Ascension Parish Government is asking parish residents to report any instances of storm water coming into their homes as a result of last week’s heavy rain.

Residents do not need to report flooding of barns, sheds or other structures — they only need to report flooding in homes and businesses.

The government will gather this information so the Floodplain Management and Stormwater departments can compile and catalog information on flooding, ensuring the parish has accurate records, according to parish spokesperson Martin McConnell.

Those whose homes or businesses flooded last week or over the weekend can call the Citizens Service Center at 225-450-1200.
